About Exa

Exa is a local-first productivity and external-memory app. It is provided by Advancing Quality Lives LLC.

Public Android application ID: org.advancingqualitylives.exa

How to contact support

Email app-support@advancingqualitylives.org for help with Exa.

Things you can check on your device

  1. For an alarm or reminder: open Android settings for Exa and confirm notification access and Alarms & reminders special access are allowed. Also check Android's alarm volume, default alarm sound, Do Not Disturb settings, and any manufacturer battery or background restrictions. These settings remain under your control.
  2. To stop a ringing Exa alarm: return to Exa and choose I'm here — stop alarm. For a finished Cycle timer, choose the matching I'm here action. If the screen is not visible, open Exa from its active alarm notification.
  3. If an alarm did not run: reopen Exa and review its alarm status and Android access. Force-stopping Exa, revoking alarm or notification access, or applying restrictive device settings can prevent expected alarm behavior. No mobile app can guarantee delivery under every device, power, or system condition.
  4. For a backup: use Exa's App & data screen and choose Export. Android will ask where to save the user-managed Exa file.
  5. To restore a backup: choose Import, select an Exa file through Android's document interface, review the preview, and confirm only if you want the imported record set to replace the current one.
  6. To start over: Delete All cancels Exa alarms and timers, erases Exa's app-private records, and returns the app to first-run setup.

Delete All and uninstall do not remove files you previously exported. Delete those user-managed copies separately from the location or document provider where you saved them.

Clearing Exa's app storage through Android or uninstalling Exa removes its app-private records. Export a backup first if you want a separate copy. Reinstalling alone cannot retrieve local records that were not exported.

Privacy while seeking help

Exa has no account, remote diagnostics, ads, analytics, third-party trackers, remote API, cloud service, or Android Internet permission in the current public source. It does not send user data to Advancing Quality Lives LLC or a developer-selected service. If you export to a document provider, that provider may store or sync the user-managed copy under its own terms.

Emailing Advancing Quality Lives LLC is optional and happens outside Exa's on-device app data flow. The company and its email provider receive the sender address, message, and any attachments you voluntarily send so the company can review and respond to the request.

Do not attach an Exa export, screenshot, record title, or record content unless you deliberately choose to share it and it is reasonably necessary for troubleshooting. An export can contain the productivity information you entered.

Advancing Quality Lives LLC may retain support correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to respond, document the resolution, protect the service or legal rights, and meet applicable obligations.

Information that can help with support

For ordinary troubleshooting, useful non-content details can include the Exa app version, Android version, device model, the screen involved, and the steps that led to the problem. A support request should not require your Exa export, record titles, or record contents unless Exa App Support clearly explains why and you choose to share them.

Keeping this page current

Advancing Quality Lives LLC will review this page when Exa's features, permissions, support steps, or troubleshooting guidance change. Updates will be reflected here.
